Mind-Body Therapy - Minneapolis, MN

The mind and the body are interwoven; each has a profound affect on the other. Although it is often not recognized, many of our body's ailments stem from imbalances in the psyche. Only when these imbalances are addressed can the physical problem be fully healed.

If you are suffering from a chronic physical condition that has been resistant to treatment, we can help. We treat:

  • Back pain, joint pain, and pain from injuries that never fully healed
  • Headaches/migranes
  • Poor general health, always getting sick
  • Low energy, chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia/general pain or discomfort
  • Digestive problems
  • Chronic illnesses

In the early 1900's--when psychotherapy was first beginning--it was commonplace for people to have serious physical symptoms (blindness, paralysis, chronic illness) which had no clearly identifiable physical cause, but that were ultimately found to be due to psychological factors. Freud, Jung and other therapists successfully treated numerous such cases with psychotherapy and succeeded at curing physical problems that had not responded to physical medicine. Today, with our heavy reliance on modern medicine and our culture's strong emphasis on the exclusivity of physical reality, we have largely forgotten this age-old wisdom that physical conditions are often rooted in the psyche or spirit.

Over the past few decades researchers and clincians integrating the disciplines of psychology, physical medicine, nutrition, chiropractic, Reiki, and Traditional Chinese Medicine have developed a system for identifying the underlying psycho-emotional-somatic patterns behind many chronic conditions. Only when a diagnosis is made from this more holistic perspective can the true core of the problem begin to be treated. Unlike most other approaches to treating chronic conditions which attempt to relieve symptoms, our mind-body approach to healing gets at the root cause and can thus offer deep, permanent healing.
